How to make a WiFi QR code
- 1Enter the network name (SSID) exactly as it appears, including capitalisation.
- 2Choose the encryption type — WPA/WPA2 for almost all modern routers, WEP for legacy hardware, or none for open networks.
- 3Type the password, or leave it blank for an open network.
- 4Download and print the code, then test it with both an Android and an iPhone.
Where WiFi codes help
- Cafés, bars and restaurants with a guest network
- Holiday rentals and hotel rooms
- Offices with a visitor SSID
- Home guest networks on a fridge magnet
Print it so people can find it
Style the code in your venue's colors and add a short caption like 'Scan to join our WiFi'. Print at least 3 cm across for table cards, larger for wall signage, and laminate it if it lives on a counter.

PDF and SVG are the best choices for printed cards and posters; PNG works for digital displays and slide decks.
About your WiFi password
The password is encoded by your browser and never sent to our servers. Remember, though, that anyone who can see or photograph the printed code can read the password — use a guest network rather than your main one, and keep the card where you would keep a written password.
