Text to QR Code Generator
Not every code needs to open a website. A plain-text code simply displays the message in the scanner app — handy for identifiers, instructions and notes that should stay offline.

How it works
- 1Type or paste the text you want encoded.
- 2Watch the density — a paragraph produces a much finer grid than a short code.
- 3Style it, then export at a resolution that suits the print size.
- 4Test-scan the exported file, not just the on-screen preview.
Typical text codes
- Asset tags, serial numbers and inventory IDs
- Short operating instructions on machinery
- Puzzle and treasure-hunt clues
- Storage box contents and lab sample labels
Length versus scannability
Every extra character adds modules. If a long message makes the grid too fine for your print size, shorten the text or increase the printed dimensions rather than the resolution alone.
Download options

Text never leaves the browser
Your QR code is rendered in your browser with JavaScript — the text, URL, password or contact details you type are never sent to our servers. We only record anonymous usage counts (the QR type and how many characters it contained) so we can keep the tool healthy. Content is only stored if you sign in and explicitly save a code to your history.
